Everyting has its cycles I would not go against them but just ride with them. On the other hand the income in Europe is not higher, the people have to pay a lot more today for everything, not to mention gas close to 2.5$ /Liter.

The Rich are prospering, the common man do no profit of this economy. The prices go up, the taxes go up tough the salary rises much less than the prices. We may have it less bad than those in the US but not by much. Those people earning money are locotus...the eat all and leave. One day they are in US the other in Europe and the next in Asia.

yes euro will replace dollar soon... already lot of international companies, banks and countries prefer using euro. (coz inflation in dollar is higher, the price of euro is more constant and lot of people are not satisfy with usa and israel attitude so they prefer using euro like in middle east they started last few years, in china they prefer it,russa as well, when they have choise, middle asia and africa, even australia) i bet really soon euro will be the international currnecy, especially with the decrease of the dollar value(maybe coz the increase of petrol but for their inside politics and tactics as well) i think this change is for the good of the economy! is one more reason uk get rid of their sterlines soon!

Tough when the oil price is coppled to the Euro it will be verry bad for the US if the dollar keeps going down. Oil prices will go up much faster then and everything will get more expensive in the US.
Thats one of the reasons why the Iraqi oil is so important for the US.

A few things that presumably aren't visible for people who studied sth different from economics: - interest rates: EBC treated inflation as priority while FED was preoccupied on fighting recession, so lowered interest rates. Outcome: investors wanted more profitable bonds of European govs, so sold dollars and bought euros. -psychology - US from long time had a trade deficit that would brought down another economy, but didn't affect US. Belief in strength of US economy ended so this deficit started to affect them
A few years ago euro plummet and dollar was exceptionally strong. And somehow it didn't mean complete collapse of the EU. So please, don't exaggerate. In my opinion that's mostly temporary behavior. (If anyone here has got certainty that it means collapse of US economy I strongly advice him making short sale of shares of American companies or investing his money in proper derivatives) But it's also a fact that more countries are going to keep (or already keep) their reserves in euros.
